Consell Nacional Origin
The Catalan National Council for Culture and Arts (CoNCA, Consell Nacional de la Cultura i de les Arts) was created by law in 2008 and launched in March 2009, in response to a claim against the Government from the cultural sector, in order to renew and expand the cultural policies and support to creation. One of the first measures adopted by the CoNCA after its formal constitution was to join the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA), the international organization that brings together the departments and government ministries of culture and arts councils.
